L’Oréal Bridges the Gap Between Beauty and Digital at Viva Technology

Last week at Viva Technology Paris L’Oréal demonstrated a perfect display of the merger between beauty and technology.

The Viva Technology conference provides a platform to bring together the world’s innovators and pioneers of the future. And so it came as no surprise that L’Oréal, a company built on a focus on ethical research and innovation, would be present.

L’Oréal leveraged the platform to display how the company uses digital technologies to create personalized services for its customers. In particular, L’Oreal highlighted its Lancôme’s Le Teint Particulier Custom Made Foundation. The patented technology precisely match a customer’s skin tone to create a customized foundation. Another innovation presented by L’Oreal was the Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings, the world’s first smart hairbrush.

While L’Oréal has been a market leader in the adoption of digital in the beauty industry, the decision of the company to openly display its connected beauty features presents an ‘aha’ moment for the rest of the beauty industry that digital is here to stay. The merging of beauty and technology presents vast opportunities to pivot both the beauty industry and society towards celebrating diversity with tailored-made products for all.
