Biolage Breaks Barries of Sustainbale Beauty

L’Oréal’s Biolage R.A.W. Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner have gained Cradle to Cradle Silver based certification, paving a new path for sustainable beauty.

The Cradle to Cradle certification is based on an evaluation of the products’ material health, material reutilization, renewable energy, carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness. The idea behind Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Program is to recognize and verify products and material developed in respect to human and environmental health.

Biolage R.A.W. was developed by L’Oréal to provide professional hairdressers with high-quality products while offering a sustainable alternative to harsher products on the markets.

The fact that Biolage R.A.W. has earned the Cradle to Cradle certification is a momentous feat just based on the fact that it is a product targeted towards professionals opposed to end consumers. This implies that many consumers may actually not even know the benefits of the product and how it is not only nourishing their hair but also benefiting the environment. L’Oréal’s initiative is revolutionary for creating a movement which encourages professionals to become more conscious of the products they use.

This is hopefully a start of the development of more products that end the myth that beauty and sustainability have to be on two different spheres.
